David T. Turnbaugh is well-known for his paintings depicting waterfowl, boats of the Chesapeake (especially skipjacks), and Mid-Atlantic landscapes. He is a native of Maryland and lives in Towson with his true love, Maureen.
After graduating college, Dave taught art for twelve years in Baltimore County Schools (Holabird Junior and Dundalk High). But his real passion is the art and he has now been a full-time artist for thirty-plus years. He is an artist member of the Grand Central Art Galleries of New York City and a member of the American Society of Marine Artists. His paintings have been included in exhibits across the United States.

"Art is more than my livelihood. It's my passion,
the way I capture and celebrate life." |
Some of Dave's accomplishments include: The Silver Medal Award, Maryland
Institute of Fine Arts; numerous awards received from exhibits and from
juried museum shows; a cover of "Prevention Magazine;" and a number
of magazine and newspaper articles. He is a six-time winner of
Maryland's prestigious Duck Stamp Competition, having won in 1985, 1991,
1996, 2000, 2004 and again in 2010.
Jacques Maroger was a longtime Maryland Institute of Fine
Arts (now "MICA") instructor. He trained under Louis
Anquetin, who was devoted to recovering the lost knowledge,
